Does ConvertCraft run offline?

Yes. Quick conversions (images, audio, video and HEIC) run entirely inside your browser via WebAssembly builds of FFmpeg.

What happens to temporary files?

Files processed locally never leave your device. If a helper server is needed for PDF rasterization, artifacts are stored transiently and auto-purged within minutes.

Can I cancel a conversion?

Each tool includes a cancel button that stops the current FFmpeg run and clears the workspace instantly.

Do files leave my device?

Most conversions run entirely in your browser. When a helper server is required the files are encrypted in transit and auto-deleted within minutes.

How long are files stored?

Server artifacts are temporary and purged right after the job finishes. We never build permanent archives.

Who can access my data?

Only your browser handles the data by default. Analytics and ads run only if you grant consent.

How big can my files be?

Free limits: up to 25 MB images, 100 MB videos, 75 MB PDFs, and 30 MB audio. ConvertCraft Pro and the Day Pass unlock higher caps and background workers for very large jobs.

Do you keep my files?

No. Browser conversions never leave your device. When a helper server is required, the file is encrypted in transit, stored briefly for processing, and auto-deleted minutes after the job finishes.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The UI is touch-friendly and works on iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and modern mobile browsers. Very large jobs may pause if the tab sleeps, so keep the screen awake for faster exports.

Will EXIF/metadata be removed?

Image and video conversions strip EXIF and other metadata by default to minimize file size. Use the Keep metadata toggle inside advanced settings if you need to preserve it.

What if a conversion fails?

Retry after refreshing the page, close other heavy tabs to free RAM, or switch to the helper server fallback (for PDFs) if available. If it keeps failing, email admin@convert-craft.com with the file type and browser so we can reproduce it.

Are ZIP/Unzip tasks limited in size?

ZIP creation happens in-memory via JSZip, so you can bundle dozens of small files or a few medium ones (up to the limits of your browser tab).

Do ZIP downloads contain malware?

No. ConvertCraft never injects executables; the ZIP only contains the files you selected and the compression metadata.

Can I unzip encrypted archives?

Password-protected archives are not supported yet. You can unzip standard .zip files entirely on-device.

How do PDF to image conversions work?

The client-side tool bundles pdf.js and renders each page directly to canvas, returning full-resolution PNG or JPG outputs without uploading the PDF.

Can I choose the DPI?

Yes. You can set the DPI value (72–300) before running the rasterizer to control the output quality and file size.

Is there a server fallback?

For extremely large documents you can enable the optional /api/pdf endpoint. It stores encrypted chunks temporarily and deletes them shortly after the job completes.
