Frequently Asked Questions

Are my files uploaded to your servers?

No. Most ConvertCraft tools process files entirely in your browser using WebAssembly (FFmpeg.wasm). Your files never leave your device for those tools. A small number of optional tools may use server-side processing, in which case files are transmitted securely, processed, and automatically deleted.

Is ConvertCraft free to use?

Yes. All conversion tools on ConvertCraft are free. The service is supported by advertising, which is only loaded after you consent via the cookie banner.

What file formats do you support?

ConvertCraft supports over 126 conversion tools across categories including image (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, SVG, GIF, AVIF, TIFF, BMP, ICO), video (MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, MKV, GIF), audio (MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, FLAC, M4A), and documents (PDF to PNG, PDF to JPG). We regularly add new formats and tools.

Why did my conversion fail?

Conversion failures can occur due to browser limitations, unsupported codecs, corrupted source files, or insufficient device memory for large files. Try using a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave) for best compatibility. If the issue persists, email us with details about the file type and browser.

Do you have a file size limit?

Since most processing happens in your browser, the practical limit depends on your device’s available memory and browser capabilities. For most devices, files up to 500 MB work reliably. Very large video files may require more RAM.

Can I use ConvertCraft on mobile?

Yes. ConvertCraft is fully responsive and works on mobile browsers. For best results on mobile, use Chrome or Safari. Note that mobile devices have less memory, so very large files may be slower to process.
