How to Check SSL Certificates

011. Enter HostnameType the hostname you want to check — e.g., example.com. If you paste a full URL, remove the scheme (https://) — only the hostname is needed.

022. Choose PortThe default port is 443 (standard HTTPS). Change it only if you're checking a non-standard TLS service on a different port.

033. Check CertificateClick Check. ConvertCraft's server opens a TLS connection to the host and retrieves the full certificate chain, expiry dates, SANs, issuer details, and SHA-256 fingerprint.

Privacy & Security

The server opens a TLS connection to the public hostname you provide. No data is sent beyond the standard TLS handshake. Private/internal network hosts are blocked to prevent SSRF attacks.

About SSL Certificate Checker

Connects to the target host via TLS and retrieves the complete certificate details including subject and issuer DNs, validity period (notBefore/notAfter), Subject Alternative Names (SANs), serial number, signature algorithm, and SHA-256 certificate fingerprint. Supports Server Name Indication (SNI) for hosts behind shared IP addresses. The server blocks private network IPs (RFC 1918) to prevent server-side request forgery (SSRF).

Use this to verify certificate expiry dates before they cause browser warnings, audit SSL/TLS configurations after deploying new certificates, check certificate chains for misconfigurations, verify domain ownership via SANs, or investigate certificate details during security audits.

Tips & Tricks

•Remove the https:// scheme if you paste a full URL — only the hostname is needed
•Certificate expiry dates in the output help you plan renewals before they expire
•SANs (Subject Alternative Names) show all domains covered by a single certificate
•The SHA-256 fingerprint lets you verify the certificate against other sources (e.g., CT logs)
•If the host uses SNI, we send the servername=host parameter for correct certificate retrieval
