Resize a video to a specific resolution while maintaining aspect ratio.
All video processing happens on ConvertCraft's dedicated VPS infrastructure. Your source file is uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed in-memory, and permanently deleted from the server within minutes of completion. No video data is stored, cached, or accessible to third parties.
Video Resize uses FFmpeg's scale filter (lanczos for downscale, bicubic for upscale) to rescale frames to a target resolution while preserving the original aspect ratio via the pad filter. The -vf flag chains scale and pad filters together, processing each frame individually through the GPU-accelerated pipeline. Supported output codecs include H.264 and H.265 (HEVC) with configurable CRF quality.
Use this tool when you need to convert 4K footage to 1080p for web uploads, reduce resolution for email attachments under size limits, or match a specific platform's resolution requirements (e.g., Instagram Reels at 1080×1920). Also useful for standardizing mixed-resolution footage before editing.
