How to Mirror a Video

Select Both to apply hflip + vflip simultaneously, producing a 180° rotational flip that reverses the image on both axes.

03Apply & DownloadThe server applies the selected FFmpeg filter(s) — hflip, vflip, or both — to every frame of the video. For H.264/H.265 inputs in compatible containers, lossless stream copy may be possible when only orientation metadata needs updating. Otherwise, a fast re-encode applies the pixel-level transformation. Download the mirrored result when ready.

About Video Mirror Effect

Applies FFmpeg's hflip (horizontal flip) and vflip (vertical flip) video filters to reverse the image on the selected axis. The hfilter mirrors each frame left-to-right while vflip mirrors top-to-bottom. Applying both simultaneously produces a 180° rotation effect (distinct from the dedicated rotate tool which supports arbitrary angles). For compatible H.264/H.265 streams, lossless processing is possible.

When to use it

Essential for correcting mirrored footage captured by front-facing smartphone cameras, creating artistic reflection effects, flipping text overlays that appear reversed, or preparing footage for multi-screen displays where orientation must match. •Horizontal flip is the most common fix for front-camera selfie videos where text and signs appear mirrored.
•Applying both hflip and vflip produces a 180° rotation — for arbitrary angles (90°, 270°), use the dedicated Video Rotate tool instead.
•Lossless stream copy is available for H.264/MP4 inputs where only the display matrix needs updating — no pixel re-encoding required.
