Animated GIFs remain one of the most popular formats for sharing short clips on social media, messaging apps, and forums. Converting a video clip to GIF used to require desktop software like Photoshop or FFmpeg command-line wizardry.

ConvertCraft makes it simple: drop a video file, set your trim points, choose a resolution and frame rate, and download a perfectly looped GIF — all without uploading anything to a server.

To create a GIF: 1) Open the GIF/MP4 Converter tool. 2) Drop a video file (MP4, WebM, MKV, MOV). 3) Set the start and end time for your clip. 4) Choose output width (240px, 480px, or original) and frame rate (10, 15, or 24 fps). 5) Click Convert and download.

File size tips: Lower resolution and frame rate produce smaller GIFs. A 5-second clip at 480px wide and 15 fps typically produces a file under 2 MB. For longer clips, consider using WebP or MP4 instead — they offer much better compression.

ConvertCraft also supports the reverse: converting GIFs back to MP4 for smaller file sizes while preserving animation. The bidirectional tool handles both directions in a single interface.
